DAWN SPACE PROBE LAUNCHED Print E-mail
To decode the mysteries of the birth of the Solar System, NASA launched the probe Dawn this afternoon to begin their research into 2 of the largest asteroids orbiting the sun.
The first stage of the journey to take the probe to circle Vesta in October 2011. Following this, resumed his journey in April 2012 to focus on where Ceres would arrive in February 2015. The mission is referred to last about 8 years and a key objective is to detect the early stages of the solar system four billion years and thus understand the process of formation of these asteroids 2.

The launch of Dawn probe was performed using a Delta II rocket from the air force base in the United States in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
